Water is a natural detoxifier and if you’re trying to get the most Star anise infused apple benefits, you can try using alkaline water. This is good for those suffering from acidity, gastrointestinal reflux, and heartburn. There are studies that link the benefits of star anise to improved sleep and better skincare. The star-shaped fruit’s origins go back to 3000 years in China where it was widely used in traditional cooking and medicine. The liquorice flavour of the ingredient was appreciated by British sailor Thomas Cavendish who introduced it to Europe after the 1570s.
