What to expect from Mindful Eating?
This mindful eating meditation pack is a two part series where one part focuses on a meditation activity that we do before we consume our meal and one that we do while eating.
About the session:
In the first session, we sit in a comfortable position where we take a few slow breaths in and breathe out through the mouth helping us relax and let go of any tension. We observe the whole body for any tension and notice the sensations at all points of contact. Then we proceed to visualize ourselves at the dining table and bring attention to the meal in front of us and fill ourselves with gratitude for the food and picture all the ingredients that go into the food. We with the help of all our senses, anticipate the taste, smell and shape of the food.
About the second session:
In the second session, we learn how to fully savour our snack. For this mindful eating meditation session, you could choose any food item of your choice such as a raisin, chocolate and more and notice how it feels in your hands, its smell and finally the sensations it creates in the mouth. Practising mindful eating will make you appreciate all the food that we eat and make the experience more joyful and fulfilling.
